Yar'Adua 'll probe Obasanjo for corruption if... — Maduekwe

Abuja — The present administration will not be restrained in investigating former President Olusegun Obasanjo for corruption but for now there are no such allegations to work on, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Chief Ojo Maduekwe has said.

Maduekwe in a BBC programme, Hard Talk, aired yesterday also affirmed that Prof. Wole Soyinka was not a proper stakeholder to question the electoral mandate of President Umaru Yar'Adua charging him and other critics to allow the judiciary carry out its duties of arbitrating the election petitions.
Responding to a question on the administration’s readiness to probe corruption allegations against President Obasanjo, Chief Maduekwe said:

“This is a government that came in through a democratic process and a democratic process means rule of law and rule of law implies that if there are allegations, those allegations will be investigated.
