Tribunal Admits Buhari's Documents Against Yar'Adua
Court of Appeal in Abuja has admitted as evidence Muhammadu Buhari’s "conflicting" presidential results obtained in 12 states in his bid to void the election of President Umaru Yar’Adua last April.
The documents comprising INEC Forms EC8 A, EC8B, EC8C and EC8D were respective results from units, wards, local government areas and states.
However, the Independent National Electoral Commission, Yar’Adua, his vice Goodluck Jonathan, Inspector General of Police, Peoples Democratic Party and over 800 other respondents had opposed the admission of the documents but were overruled.
Kanu Agabi, Wole Olanipekun counsels to INEC and Yar’Adua raised objection on the grounds that the documents were not pleaded by Buhari’s counsel, Mike Ahamba.
IGP, PDP and the other respondents through their counsel aligned selves with INEC and asked the court to refuse the admission of Buhari’s documents .
